Guidance and Experience Support Big Internal Career Moves

GOAL:

After an extensive career in insurance operations, a mid-career professional made a move to digital product ownership. Together, our goal was to examine the fit and future of this big move and the path necessary to realize success in the new role.

SOLUTION:

With any transition, there is both excitement and trepidation. We helped to identify and directly address concerns, evaluate opportunities, and map out transferable skills and experience. We developed a plan to comprehensively explore the new position through engagement in key practices and processes, peer shadowing, and creation of a guide to success in the role.

We worked through both positive and challenging experiences, leveraging a pragmatic approach to the process with a focus on optimizing strengths and maximizing growth opportunities. Through it all, we facilitated access to additional venues for continued development.

RESULTS:

After successful exploration and test runs, this individual stayed on the new career path, becoming a highly-valued and successful digital product owner and taking on additional team responsibilities within the first three months of the transition.
